This traditional garden Trug has been hand made in Sussex, England. A sturdy and lovely harvest basket, it is also perfect for toting hand tools around the garden. Each beautiful Trug is hand made by a Master Trug Maker. The rim and handles are made from Chestnut, and the planks are made from Willow. The factory partners with a cricket bat company in England, purchasing the remnants for the efficient use of raw materials. The quality and workmanship is guaranteed for five years, though most Trug owners enjoy them for decades. Each Trug is signed and numbered by the maker.
About the materials: All woods in the making of this Trug are from sustainable sources. The Chestnut comes mainly from local woodlands, where it is coppiced. Coppicing is an ancient form of woodland management that allows for more new trees to grow than were harvested. The Willow is the by-product of cricket bat manufacture, and come from forests with a formal replanting program.
